Practical Calculation Models for Column Footing and Comparison with Experimental Data

In this paper, a simplified calculation model for the prediction of the load-carrying capacity of an RC column footing with a square cross section is presented. A detailed background of available experimental data and existing models for the prediction of the load-carrying capacity of slender and deep footings is presented. Cases of flexural failure and punching shear failures for slender footing and concrete strut crushing and tie yielding in deep members are analyzed. This is a delicate operation, on account of the constraints imposed by space, language, concepts and the text. Between 2015 and 2017, the European Union (EU) was confronted with a major crisis in its history, the so-called “European refugee crisis.” Since the multifaceted crisis has provoked many different responses, it is also likely to have influenced individuals’ assessments of immigrants and European integration. Evaluation of a model of temporal weights in loudness judgments

The onset of a sound receives a higher weight than later portions in time when its loudness is assessed, an effect commonly referred to as primacy effect. It is investigated if this effect can be predicted on the basis of an exponentially decaying function where the weight assigned to a temporal portion of a sound is the integral of this function over the segment duration. To test this model, temporal loudness weights were measured for sounds with different segment durations and total durations. The model successfully predicted essential aspects of the data.

Resume Depuis les annees 1950, la pharmacogenetique s’est developpee avec l’objectif d’ameliorer les strategies therapeutiques en particulier dans la prise en charge des pathologies psychiatriques. Si les prescriptions reposent sur des strategies adaptees au plus grand nombre, dans un certain nombre de cas, elles connaissent des limites en termes de delai d’action, voire des risques d’inefficacite. Ces risques sont en partie dus a des modifications pharmacocinetiques et pharmacodynamiques. Pour maitriser ces donnees et personnaliser les therapeutiques, il serait souhaitable de pouvoir prendre en compte les caracteristiques individuelles de chaque patient.
